Tola Porter

Archivist/Historian

Tola Porter is a Ph.D. candidate in Art History & Archaeology at Washington University in St. Louis. She holds an M.A. in Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University and an M.A. in Arts Administration from Columbia University. Her research focuses on modern public sculpture from the mid-to-late twentieth century and her dissertation (in progress) on that topic is entitled, Awakening Social Agency in Dormant Public Sculpture. Her writing can be seen in Public Art Dialogue. In June 2020, Tola will moderate the panel that she organized for the Americans for the Arts Public Art and Civic Design Conference entitled Aging Modern Public Sculpture in a Post-Modern Era.
